The Italian is one of the top players in the world, so naturally, he wants to bring victory to his country at the Olympic Games, which, in 2024, will take place at the legendary Roland Garros courts, where he just reached a semi-final.

Sinner is now confirmed to appear even more prominently by signing up to play doubles at the event together with compatriot Lorenzo Musetti. Sinner is not known as a doubles player, although he does play doubles from time to time.

The 22-year-old used to play with a broad assortment of players, including Hubert Hurkacz, Sebastian Korda, and even Reilly Opelka. He even won a trophy with Opelka, going all the way at the Atlanta Open in 2021.

He’s played fewer and less doubles since then but still does it on occasion. This year Sinner totaled three doubles matches as he paired up with Lorenzo Sonego in Indian Wells and Monte-Carlo.

Perhaps it was the pairing he had in mind for the Olympics, but it won’t work out as Sonego wasn’t able to qualify. Musetti has, and as a result, they will be teaming up in Paris.

It’s an intriguing combo because Sinner has that raw strength and amazing shot-making, while Musetti is a fantastic clay player in his own right. He might not have the strength that his teammate has, but he possesses a wide selection of shots that could be effective in doubles. He also glides pretty well on the court.

The two may try to partner up for any of the clay-court tournaments before to the Games to practice playing together and create chemistry.

For Sinner, this means that he’ll have a hectic itinerary in the French capital. He will play both singles and doubles, and he’s going to be one to watch because of how he played recently at Roland Garros. He made the semi-final, losing to Carlos Alcaraz in five sets.
