The Texas Rangers are getting a significant lift as two of their most promising young stars, Wyatt Langford and Jack Leiter, are set to return from injury this week.
Langford, recovering from a mild oblique strain, kicked off a rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco on Thursday. He’s expected to play in the outfield Friday and rejoin the Rangers’ lineup on Saturday in a high-profile showdown against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Globe Life Field. Before landing on the injured list, the 23-year-old outfielder was slashing .244/.333/.561 with four homers and six RBIs—leading the team in both categories.

Meanwhile, top pitching prospect Jack Leiter is also nearing a return. Leiter, who has been out with a blister on his pitching hand, threw 53 pitches during live batting practice Thursday and said he felt great afterward. Whether he heads straight into the rotation or makes a rehab start first is still undecided.

With both young standouts close to rejoining the team, the Rangers’ lineup and rotation are poised to get even stronger—just in time for a crucial stretch in the season.
