The South Carolina men’s basketball program continues to strengthen its roster through the transfer portal, landing a commitment from Boston College forward Elijah Strong. The 6-foot-8, 235-pound big man made his pledge to the Gamecocks following an official visit over the weekend, according to 247Sports’ John Whittle.
Strong becomes the fifth player to transfer into the South Carolina program this offseason. He averaged 9.6 points and 4.1 rebounds in 23.5 minutes per game last season with the Eagles and brings two years of eligibility to Columbia after spending the last two seasons at Boston College.
His commitment adds size and depth to the frontcourt, joining fellow transfer Christ Essandoko from Providence. Head coach Lamont Paris and his staff have also secured commitments from three guards and wings, building a well-rounded transfer class as they prepare for the upcoming season.
