As a freshman, he averaged 9.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game, earning a spot on the SEC All-Freshman team. His sophomore year saw significant growth, with averages of 13.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. Notably, he improved his three-point shooting percentage from 30.3% as a freshman to 37.4% as a sophomore, showcasing his dedication to refining his game.
UConn head coach Dan Hurley expressed enthusiasm about Demary’s addition to the team.
“Silas brings a unique blend of size, skill, and experience that will greatly enhance our backcourt,” Hurley stated. “His versatility and defensive prowess align perfectly with the culture we’re building here at UConn.”

Demary’s decision to transfer to UConn was influenced by the program’s rich legacy of elite guards and championship success. He cited icons like Kemba Walker and Shabazz Napier as inspirations and expressed his eagerness to contribute to the team’s storied history.
“I’m excited to join a program with such a rich tradition,” Demary commented. “I look forward to bringing my skills to UConn and helping the team achieve its goals.”
