South Carolina’s forward Nick Pringle is weighing his future in basketball as he reopens his transfer portal options and contemplates a jump to the NBA. The decision marks another turn in Pringle’s evolving collegiate career.

Pringle’s journey began at Wofford during the 2021-22 season, where he played 15 games off the bench, averaging two points per contest in limited minutes. Seeking greater opportunities, he transferred to Alabama, where he gradually increased his role. In his first season with the Tide, Pringle recorded 288 minutes over 36 games, averaging 3.5 points and 3.1 rebounds. His 2023-24 season saw him appear in 34 games, including 16 starts, as he improved his averages to 6.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.

However, his stint at Alabama was not without its challenges. Facing disciplinary issues that resulted in two suspensions under head coach Nate Oats, Pringle opted to transfer to South Carolina for the 2024-25 season, hoping for a fresh start. Now, as he looks ahead, Pringle is re-assessing his options—deciding between finding a new collegiate home or testing his skills in the NBA Draft.

South Carolina has acknowledged Pringle’s contributions and wishes him well as he considers his next move. With his future hanging in the balance, the talented forward now faces a pivotal decision that could redefine his basketball career.
