COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women’s basketball head coach Kellie Harper announced on Tuesday that Jennifer Sullivan has joined her coaching staff as an assistant. With 20 years of coaching experience under her belt, Sullivan reunites with Harper for the third time after a recent four-year tenure as head coach at Florida Atlantic University.
Sullivan, who previously served as an assistant under Harper at both Tennessee and Missouri State, brings a wealth of experience and proven recruiting expertise to the program. “I am thrilled to welcome Jennifer to our staff at Mizzou,” Harper said. “Her deep knowledge of our region and proven track record in recruiting, along with her commitment to excellence, will be invaluable to our players both during games and in practice. She embodies the winning culture we strive to uphold at our university.”

Expressing her gratitude, Sullivan remarked, “I am very thankful to Kellie for this incredible opportunity to rejoin her on the sidelines. Missouri women’s basketball is an elite program, and I’m excited to contribute to building on their past success and chasing championships.”
During her time at FAU from 2021 to 2025, Sullivan dramatically transformed the Owls’ program, driving a 120% increase in wins. In her first season, she helped produce a team with four players scoring in double digits—one of just two schools in Conference USA to achieve that feat—and earned notable conference honors along with multiple academic accolades. In the 2022-23 season, she further enhanced the program’s reputation by guiding the team to two victories over NCAA Tournament opponents and developing its first-ever Conference USA Freshman of the Year, in addition to several other conference honors.
Sullivan’s journey has seen her make significant contributions at several programs. She spent two seasons at Tennessee as an assistant under Harper, where the Lady Vols achieved impressive SEC records and deep tournament runs, including a historic SEC Tournament semifinal appearance. Before her time in Knoxville, Sullivan had a brief but impactful stint at Ohio State and enjoyed notable success at Missouri State from 2013 to 2018. There, her recruiting prowess and on-court contributions helped the Lady Bears secure a strong postseason presence, including NCAA Tournament and WNIT appearances.
Prior to Missouri State, Sullivan gained further experience as an associate head coach at Louisiana and spent three years with Arkansas State, where she handled recruiting, summer camps, and academic monitoring. Her coaching career began at Rhodes College in Memphis, where she helped lead the team to a 34-18 record over two seasons. A four-year letterwinner and three-year starter at Memphis from 2001 to 2005, Sullivan finished her playing career with 800 points, 310 rebounds, and 99 steals, and was a key part of the 2004 team that advanced in the WNIT. She graduated from Memphis with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
