BOOST: Royals Announce Sole Inductee for 2025 Hall of Fame Class

The Kansas City Royals have announced that Alex Gordon will be inducted into the Royals Hall of Fame as the sole member of the 2025 class. The 41-year-old former outfielder will receive the honor in a ceremony on June 13 at Kauffman Stadium, right before the Royals take on the Oakland A’s.

Gordon, a key figure in the Royals’ 2014 American League pennant and 2015 World Series championship, earned a spot in the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility, securing an impressive 97.8% of the vote. This recognition highlights his legacy as a homegrown star who dedicated himself to the team and became a Royals legend.

The blue jacket ceremony will be a special moment for Gordon, who will join the ranks of Royals icons like George Brett, Bo Jackson, and his former manager, Ned Yost. His journey to the Hall of Fame wasn’t without challenges, but Gordon’s relentless commitment to improvement and his remarkable work ethic helped him transform into one of the most respected players in Royals history.

Drafted second overall by the Royals in 2005, Gordon initially struggled as a third baseman but didn’t let setbacks define him. After a rough start to his career, he was sent down to Triple-A in 2010 to learn left field. It was there that Gordon’s transformation took place. By mid-2010, he returned to the majors, and by 2011, he had earned his first Gold Glove Award. Gordon’s dedication to mastering left field and his consistent performance on both sides of the ball cemented his place in Royals history.

This June, Royals fans will celebrate Alex Gordon’s incredible journey and his rightful place among the franchise’s all-time greats.
