ECU Announces Blockbuster 2025 Football Schedule with Key Home Matchups and Thursday Night Games!

GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina University has announced that it will host BYU on Saturday, Sept. 20, and Army on Thursday, Sept. 25, according to the American Athletic Conference office on Monday afternoon.

With these updates, ECU will play four games on Thursday nights during the 2025 season, two of which will be at home and two on the road. The Pirates will kick off the season at NC State on Aug. 28 and begin conference play at home against Army in Week 5. After a bye week, ECU will travel to Tulane on Oct. 9 and then host Tulsa on Oct. 16. Since 2000, ECU holds a 25-32 record (.439) in non-Saturday games (8-17 at home, 17-15 on the road), following a 2-1 record in 2024.

Game day designations and color games will be announced once finalized, and broadcast information will be confirmed when determined by the league office and networks.

Season ticket packages are currently available, starting at $115. The priority deadline for orders is April 1. Tickets can be purchased through ECU’s Online Ticket Center or by contacting the Athletics Ticket Office at (252) 737-4500.

Spring football practices will begin on March 25, with the annual Purple-Gold Spring Game set for April 26 at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
The American Conference will hold its championship game during the first weekend of December (Dec. 5-6), and it will be played on the home field of the highest-seeded team based on its regular season finish.

KICKOFF TIMES & TELEVISION PICKS
Kickoff times and television broadcasts for the first three weeks of the season and most non-Saturday games will be finalized by June 1, with the remainder announced via the traditional 12-day/6-day process.
