Gauff amassed $30.4 million during the 2024 season, raking in $9.4 million in prize money and $21 million through endorsements. She surpassed her WTA colleagues, including Iga Swiatek, Zheng Qinwen, Aryna Sabalenka, Naomi Osaka, and Emma Raducanu, to top the list.
Swiatek made $21.4 million to rank third on the list, followed by Zheng ($20.6 million) in fourth, Sabalenka ($17.7 million) in fifth, Osaka ($15.9 million) in sixth, and Raducanu ($14.7 million) in seventh. Freestyle skier Eileen Gu claimed second place by earning $22.1 million.
Gauff is notably represented by Team8, an Ohio-based PR agency run by Tony Godsick, who manages Roger Federer, one of the highest-earning athletes of all time, and Juan Martin del Potro.
Team8 came into existence in 2013 when Federer, Godsick, Ian McKinnon, and Dirk Ziff came together to form the company. The quad continues to remain partners in the business. Coco Gauff’s association with Team8 has been existing since her non-professional days.
The American sensation began 2024 with a bang by defending her ASB Classic title in January. However, she remained without a title till September, making the semi-finals at the Australian Open and French Open, and reaching the Round of 16 at Wimbledon and the US Open.
She found her feet in the latter half of the season, winning the China Open in Beijing and the WTA Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to cap off on a positive note.
Coco Gauff: “I beat the bad season allegations”
Coco Gauff took to X (formerly Twitter) right after winning her first WTA Finals on November 9, 2024, and put the bad-season claims to rest.
“Lol safe to say I beat the bad season allegations,” she wrote.
In Riyadh, she overcame the likes of Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka to reach the title clash, where she defeated Zheng Qinwen (3-6, 6-4, 7-6(2)) with a comeback effort to claim her third trophy for 2024.
Furthermore, she posted another message on X after the WTA Finals, thanking her supporters and targeting the doubters at the same time:
“Also, I know tend to focus on “doubters/haters” but this one is really for all of my supporters! Ya’ll held it down for me win or lose! I thank you for that. And I know some of you are a little bit petty like me so it does feel nice to silence them for a bit.”
