Carlos Alcaraz predicts future wife’s name, how many children they have, year of retirement & more
Carlos Alcaraz recently took part in a fun interaction with a magician from Venezuela. The Spaniard was asked to predict his future wife’s name, the number of children they would have, his year of retirement, and his career’s final Major tournament appearance.
Alcaraz had a banner year on the ATP Tour in 2024, winning titles at Wimbledon and Roland Garros. The 21-year-old is currently gearing up for his 2025 season and played an exhibition event at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Wednesday (November 4).
Just before his outing at MSG, Carlos Alcaraz had an interaction with a magician named Daniel Fernandez. The latter, who admittedly has a complete mastery of human psychology, passed the four-time Major winner a piece of paper containing undisclosed information before asking him a few questions.
Fernandez began by probing Alcaraz on when he thinks he would play in his last Grand Slam tournament, to which the Spaniard responded:
“2037… Because the true greats play for a long time, I want to reach that peak. 35 and still fighting.”
The answer prompted the Venezuelan magician to further ask the World No. 3 which of the four Major tournaments would be the site of his retirement. To this question, the 21-year-old quickly replied Wimbledon.
Daniel Fernandez then gave Carlos Alcaraz a rather interesting proposition. He asked:
“You’re single, right? I want you to imagine that you’re married in 2037, at Wimbledon, about to become the greatest tennis player in history, and you look to the stands, you see a woman. Do you have kids?”
In response, Alcaraz anticipated that he would have three children if he were to get married in the future. Fernandez then implored him to guess what his wife’s name would be. After some deliberation, the young Spaniard came up with “Maria”.
The magician then asked the four-time Major winner to read the contents of the piece of paper he had kept with him before answering the above questions. To Alcaraz’s surprise, Fernandez had managed to access his thoughts and had predicted the answers to all of the questions in advance.
