The kiss between Jannik Sinner and Anna Kalinskaya after the Italian’s victory at the US Open may have gone viral, but the top-ranked player in the ATP wasn’t eager to talk about it in public.
The 23-year-old Italian defeated Taylor Fritz 6-3 6-4 7-5 in the US Open final on Sunday to become the second-ever Grand Slam victor. Sinner’s girlfriend, Kalinskaya, who is ranked 14th in the WTA rankings, was present in his player box as the Italian won at Flushing Meadows. The two shared a kiss.
Some were taken aback when the 2024 Australian Open winner chose to kiss his girlfriend in front of cameras because he is a quiet individual who hardly shares details about his personal life. Additionally, he was kindly asked whether he would be interested in making a comment on the viral scene during one of the interviews that were held following his victory in New York.
Please pardon me for asking, Jannik. Italians are curious about your aunt’s first name, to whom you have dedicated your triumph. “After that, you know that everyone witnessed the kiss. Are you content with that?” the query appeared, via
Sinner answered, saying he didn’t want to provide a yes or no response. It is a matter of family.”
Sinner and Kalinskaya went public in May
The world number one tennis player said at the French Open that he was dating the Russian tennis player, but he didn’t elaborate further after the two were seen together in Italy and then again at a restaurant in Paris prior to the French Open.
“As you well aware, I dislike discussing personal matters. Yes, I am with Anna. However, we maintain extreme privacy. “I won’t talk more than that; you know me,” the Italian stated in Paris.
Sinner is currently enjoying a career-high rating of No. 14, having won three titles and finished second in Berlin since they began dating.
