Jack Tuttle, the quarterback for Michigan, was anticipated to be a candidate to start for the Wolverines this season; however, an injury has altered Tuttle’s path, and Davis Warren is now the starting quarterback. After tearing the upper portion of his UCL in his right elbow during the previous season, Tuttle missed spring workouts and, in the words of head coach Sherrone Moore, has been “working through some things” since the start of fall camp. Tuttle dressed up against Texas but did not play in Week 1. Moore gave more details about Tuttle’s injury status on Monday.

According to Moore, Jack has been throwing more this week and appears to be ready to go.

Tuttle, 25, is in his second year at Michigan and his sixth overall in college. During the previous season, Tuttle filled in for J.J. McCarthy and went 15 of 17 for 130 yards with one touchdown. Tuttle played at Indiana before coming to Michigan, where he had a 57.1 completion % while throwing for 901 yards, five touchdowns, and six interceptions.

During the July Big Ten Media Day, Moore gave an exceptional speech about Tuttle’s skills.

Moore remarked, “He’s been great.” “He has been precise. He has been using a lot of force. tangible. Quickly. He also has a nice appearance. Jack’s unfavorable position was behind J.J. McCarthy and Michael Penix Jr. Let’s just say he’s thrilled. We are eager to find out what occurs as we watch him compete.

It’s difficult to predict how Tuttle will be discussed as a starting quarterback and whether there’s a good possibility he’ll play in upcoming games. Davis Warren is 37-of-58 for 322 yards through two games, with two touchdowns and three interceptions. In actuality, Warren should be pushed by Tuttle’s health. Against their next opponent, Arkansas State, Michigan is favored by more than three touchdowns. If Tuttle is well enough to throw and Michigan has a significant lead, he should be on the field before the clock strikes zero.
