Marshall Rifai signs Leafs extension through 2026-27 season
Marshall Rifai, a defenseman for the Toronto Maple Leafs who made his NHL debut last season, inked a two-year contract extension that runs through the 2026–2027 campaign, the team announced on Thursday.
The average annual value of the contract is $775,000.
In two Maple Leafs games in February, Rifai, 26, averaged 11:40 of ice time.
Rifai scored 19 points (two goals, 17 assists) in 57 games with the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies in the previous campaign. He contributed three goals and an assist in three postseason games.
In 126 regular-season games, Rifai has 35 points (six goals, 29 assists), and in eight Marlies playoff games, he has five points (three goals, two assists).
He initially signed a one-year AHL contract with the company in March 2022.
