According to IndyStar’s Chloe Peterson, this represents Fagbenle’s third injury this season, significantly limiting her availability. Despite playing only 16 games this year for the Fever (17-16), Fagbenle has contributed solidly off the bench, averaging 6.5 points, 5 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 19 minutes per game.

The timing of this injury is bad for Indiana, as they’ve been gathering momentum post-Olympic break, going 6-1 and pushing into the sixth seed in the playoff race.
The Fever, who haven’t reached the postseason since 2016, are seeking to extend their surge during a vital stretch of six consecutive home games before completing their regular season against the Washington Mystics on September 19.
Fagbenle praised Clark
Fagbenle’s court time alongside rookie standout Clark has been limited due to her injury setbacks. However, Fagbenle has talked positively of Clark’s impact on the team. Back in May, she revealed her thoughts on Clark’s abilities, praising her for her leadership and playmaking capabilities, which have helped the Fever become more competitive.
“She’s a great passer, and she’s always going to pass it when I’m open,” she said.
“It’s pretty wonderful, considering we haven’t had many practices together. I’ve only had a couple of those kind of point guards, who simply know, and see the play before it’s happened.”
