Just In: LSU Football Land Commitment From A Versatile, Talented, and Highly Coveted Safety

Prediction: LSU Football Poised to Secure Commitment from Coveted Safety

Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers are gaining momentum in their pursuit of highly sought-after 2025 safety, CJ Jimcoily.

With less than 24 hours before Jimcoily makes his decision, the LSU football staff is in a strong position to land the four-star defensive back from Nashville’s Lipscomb Academy. LSU has intensified its efforts for Jimcoily, with the decision set for Thursday, August 8th, and the Tigers currently lead the race.

Sources close to the recruitment suggest this is a tight contest between LSU and Stanford, but all signs indicate that LSU is likely to emerge victorious. LSU Tigers On SI has now predicted that Jimcoily will commit to LSU when he announces his decision on Thursday.

Jimcoily, who has already visited Baton Rouge, has kept LSU at the top of his list as he nears the end of his recruitment process. The Tigers have a strong advantage, with Jimcoily’s father having grown up in New Orleans and family still residing in Louisiana.

LSU safeties coach Jake Olsen has been heavily involved in Jimcoily’s recruitment as the decision date approaches. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound safety is gearing up for a big senior season at Lipscomb Academy, and with a long list of scholarship offers, the battle for his commitment has come down to LSU and Stanford.

Academics are a priority for Jimcoily, who boasts a GPA above 4.0, making Stanford a serious contender. However, despite the fluidity of the recruiting landscape, LSU is expected to secure his commitment.

Additionally, LSU is in the mix for another 2025 target, tight end Mike Tyler, who is set to announce his decision in August. After impressing the LSU staff during a summer camp, Tyler was invited to the Bayou Splash event in July, and LSU is now pushing hard for his commitment.

Tyler, who has offers from over 20 programs including LSU, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Wake Forest, is being pursued by the Tigers despite their existing commitment from Louisiana’s top tight end, JD LaFleur. LSU aims to secure a two-tight end class in 2025, with Tyler complementing LaFleur.

Tyler had a standout junior season, recording 33 receptions for 543 yards and seven touchdowns. As a versatile offensive weapon, he’s expected to have a strong senior year, and LSU Tigers On SI now predicts that Tyler will soon commit to LSU, further bolstering their No. 3 ranked recruiting class in America, which could potentially rise to the top.
