Full List of Women’s Players to Withdraw From Paris Olympics

The tennis world is buzzing as the 2024 Paris Olympics approach, set to start on Saturday. Several top women’s players, including French Open champion Iga Swiatek (Poland) and U.S. flagbearer Coco Gauff, are on the entry list. However, some notable players have withdrawn. This article lists those who have opted out and their replacements. LWOT also reported on the men’s players who have withdrawn.

**Which Players Have Withdrawn?**

The biggest name to withdraw from the Paris Olympics is Aryna Sabalenka (Individual Neutral Athletes). The two-time Australian Open champion cited a packed schedule as the reason. She noted that transitioning immediately to the North American hard court season would strain her body, especially after a shoulder injury that forced her out of Wimbledon.

Ons Jabeur (Tunisia) also withdrew, sharing similar concerns as Sabalenka. Jabeur, who has been managing a knee injury, believes the quick switch to hard courts could worsen her condition.

Marketa Vondrousova (Czech Republic) withdrew due to a hand injury. The previous Wimbledon champion had hoped to compete in doubles but found it impossible due to the injury’s severity.

Madison Keys (United States) surprised some with her withdrawal, particularly after a strong clay-court season. The former US Open runner-up decided to be cautious after missing the season’s start due to injury.

Other players who withdrew include:

– Daria Kasatkina (Individual Neutral Athletes)

– Liudmila Samsonova (Individual Neutral Athletes)

– Victoria Azarenka (Individual Neutral Athletes)

– Anna Kalinskaya (Individual Neutral Athletes)

– Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (Individual Neutral Athletes)

– Veronika Kudermetova (Individual Neutral Athletes)

– Anastasia Potapova (Individual Neutral Athletes)

– Anna Blinkova (Individual Neutral Athletes)

– Elina Avanesyan (Individual Neutral Athletes)

**Who Replaces Those Players in the Draw?**

Bianca Andreescu (Canada) is the most notable replacement. The 2019 US Open champion recently returned from a long injury at this year’s French Open, where she reached the third round before losing to eventual runner-up Jasmine Paolini.

Other players set to feature at the Paris Olympics are:
