After winning the ESPY Award for best women’s collegiate athlete, Caitlin Clark received high appreciation from her professional squad.Following her victory at the yearly ESPN awards presentation, the Indiana Fever congratulated the incredible rookie on Thursday.

“Left her mark at @IowaWBB,” the group wrote on X. “congratulations to Caitlin Clark for winning the ESPY for Best College Athlete”

During her final NCAA season at Iowa, Clark broke numerous records and became the all-time leader in NCAA Division I scoring for both women’s and men’s basketball. She became the third player in program history to have her jersey retired, and she went down as the most legendary player in Iowa women’s basketball history. She also established the scoring mark.

Even though Clark’s college career is about to come to an end, she has already left her mark on the WNBA. She recently recorded a triple-double, making her the first rookie in league history, and she is the clear favorite to win WNBA Rookie of the Year.

At the ESPY Awards, Clark received a lot of attention. Serena Williams, the host, compared her to another Indiana-born NBA legend.

“Caitlin Clark had an amazing year and is nominated for three awards,” Williams stated. “Caitlin, you remind me of Larry Bird because you’re a fantastic player, you’re from Indiana, and white people adore you.”
