Delayed decision keeps Michigan football alive for A Top Versatile 5-star wide receiver
We were reminded on Friday that you never know what will happen in the recruiting process when Michigan football’s top target and number-100 wideout, Derek Meadows, a five-star prospect according to 247 Sports, decided to postpone his commitment by one week, per a new report.
Meadows is a talented wideout out of Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas. He is six feet five and weighs 200 pounds. Michigan, Notre Dame, Alabama, and LSU are among the other contenders. Although it was most anticipated that Meadows would pledge to LSU on Friday, his decision to postpone his commitment by one week may benefit Michigan or Notre Dame.
Although it has been difficult to predict Meadows’ recruiting, LSU was the front-runner as of Friday. Delays typically work against the favorite, but even though Andrew Olesh postponed his commitment by one week, U-M was still able to get his support.
Michigan football is hoping to sign a five-star wide receiver.
At 83 percent, the On3 prediction machine has Notre Dame as the top team. Meadows’s delay greatly benefited the Irish, but Michigan also benefited. The Wolverines will have extra time to bring in the gifted wideout who paid Ann Arbor a formal visit.
The expected destinations are either LSU or Notre Dame. You can’t claim it’s impossible, either, because Michigan football has recently defeated both colleges in recruiting contests. While the Wolverines haven’t been recognized for their success in recruiting wide receivers, they have gotten a number of good talents over the past several years, including Andrew Marsh, another top-100 wideout who Michigan leads for.
Meadows and Andrew Marsh are superior to it. They are outstanding, and Sherrone Moore would do a fantastic job of recruiting Michigan football players if he could secure one, or perhaps both.
