Los Angeles Lakers Officially Sign Promising Forwar

The Los Angeles Lakers have signed Armel Traore to a two-way contract.

Traore was not selected in the 2024 NBA Draft last month. However, he had an impressive season, averaging 10.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 54.1% from the field and 26.2% from three-point range in 33 games for ADA Blois Basket 41.

The Lakers announced Traore’s signing to a two-way contract on Friday.

The Lakers have a strong track record of developing undrafted and second-round players over the past eight years, including Alex Caruso, Austin Reaves, and Max Christie.

With new head coach JJ Redick, known for maximizing player potential, the team hopes to further develop Traore, who is just 21 years old and seen as a promising prospect for both the NBA and G League.

The Lakers finished last season as the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a 47-35 record but were eliminated by the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the NBA playoffs.
