247Sport: Two Outstanding Talents to be next Michigan football commitment

Michigan football is poised to enhance its 2025 class shortly, with two potential new commitments on the horizon.

With 13 current commitments in the 2025 class, Michigan fans are eagerly awaiting the 14th. The anticipation centers around four-star tight end Andrew Olesh, who postponed his announcement from last Monday to the following week.

Ranked No. 130 overall and the fifth-ranked tight end in the 2025 class by 247 Sports, the 6-foot-5, 212-pound Pennsylvania native was initially leaning towards Penn State. However, after a recent visit to Michigan, expert projections now favor U-M, although Alabama remains a contender. Reports this week suggest Michigan still leads, and if they maintain this position through the weekend, they could secure their 11th blue-chip commitment for the class.

**Candidate 2:**

Another promising prospect for Michigan football is three-star wide receiver Phillip Wright. The 5-foot-11, 160-pound Louisiana native, who runs a 10.6-second 100-meter dash, has narrowed his choices to Georgia, Michigan, and Georgia Tech after official visits to each. Wright, ranked No. 533 in 2025 by 247 Sports, will announce his decision on July 11th, with predictions currently favoring Michigan.

**Additional Context:**

Michigan’s June recruiting success continued with the commitment of four-star EDGE Julius Holly from Georgia, ranked No. 301 overall in the 2025 class. Holly, Michigan’s 13th commitment, chose U-M over Texas A&M, Georgia, and Ole Miss, bringing the Wolverines’ class ranking to No. 15 according to 247 Sports.

Lou Esposito, Michigan’s new D-line coach, has been instrumental in securing recent commitments from blue-chip prospects like Jaylen Williams, Nate Marshall, and Holly, showcasing a promising future for the program. Despite some recent misses, Michigan remains in contention for several top prospects, aiming to assemble a top-10 class.
