In 69 games with the Syracuse Crunch the previous season, Goncalves, 23, led all skaters in assists (45) and points (58). In his seven Calder Cup Playoff appearances with Syracuse, Goncalves scored one goal and totaled six points, which ranked him second among all Crunch players.
On January 11, 2024, against the New Jersey Devils, the 5-foot-11, 188-pound center made his NHL debut with the Lightning. In his ninety minutes on the ice, he had one hit and one takeaway. Before being sent back to the AHL, Goncalves appeared in just two NHL games. He wants to score his first point in the NHL.
