The Texas Rangers have officially activated outfielder Wyatt Langford from the injured list after a brief rehab stint with Double-A Frisco. Langford had been sidelined since April 8 with a minor oblique strain but returned to game action Thursday, going 1-for-3 with a walk and a home run as the designated hitter.
Manager Bruce Bochy previously hinted that Langford was close to a return, saying, “We just think he could use a couple games.” Now, the team has seen what they needed and made the move.
Langford, the Rangers’ 2023 first-round pick, was enjoying a strong start to the 2025 season before the injury. In his first 12 games, he slashed .253/.561 with five extra-base hits and four home runs—tied for the team lead with Corey Seager at the time.

Coming off a promising rookie year where he hit 16 homers and stole 19 bases over 134 games, the 23-year-old is expected to rejoin the heart of Texas’s lineup as they push through the early season. His return provides a significant boost to the Rangers’ offense as they look to build momentum in the AL West.
