“Cincy Comes Together: Bengals’ Ted Karras and Reds Launch Uplifting Community Drive to Support Adults with Disabilities Through ‘The Cincy Hat’ Project”

Cincinnati Bengals center Ted Karras is once again giving back to his community, but this time, he’s teaming up with the Cincinnati Reds. Known for his passion for the city, Karras has been an advocate for local causes, and his latest initiative is the “The Cincy Hat” project.

Launched in 2022, The Cincy Hat has become a beloved symbol across the city, with Bengals players, Reds players, and fans proudly sporting the hat. The project’s mission is to raise funds for The Village of Merici, an Indianapolis-based organization that provides residential and support services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

As part of his partnership with the Reds, Karras will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Reds’ May 2 game against the Washington Nationals. Fans can join the event and contribute to the cause by purchasing tickets through a special link. For every ticket sold, $10 will be donated to The Cincy Hat.

In addition to supporting a great cause, attendees will have the chance to snag one of the hats, which are priced at around $35. With a wide range of styles available, there’s a hat for everyone.

Karras, who has embraced Cincinnati as his home, expressed excitement for the Reds’ season. “I’m fired up for the Reds this year,” he said, reflecting his enthusiasm for the city he’s come to love. Last year, he participated in the Reds’ Opening Day parade, and now, as a 2023 Bengals nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, he’s deepening his involvement with another iconic local team.

Fans can support The Cincy Hat project and enjoy a great day of baseball by purchasing tickets via the provided link, all while making a positive impact on the community.
