The Boston Bruins have officially signed Latvian forward Dans Locmelis to a three-year entry-level contract, marking the end of his college hockey career at UMass.
The contract has an annual average value of $860,000. Locmelis wrapped up his final college season just short of a Frozen Four appearance, posting 47 points (15 goals, 32 assists) in 70 games for the Minutemen.

Internationally, Locmelis has represented Latvia, contributing significantly with 6 goals, 4 assists, and 10 points across 16 World Junior Championship games.
His efforts were pivotal in helping Latvia secure a bronze medal at the 2023 tournament and clinch a spot in the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Locmelis will report to the Providence Bruins on an Amateur Tryout (ATO) contract, where he may soon make his professional debut. The Bruins selected him in the fourth round of the 2022 NHL Draft .
