BOOST: South Carolina Secures Commitment from USF Transfer Kobe Knox

Head coach Lamont Paris continues reshaping South Carolina’s basketball roster through the transfer portal, landing Kobe Knox from the University of South Florida on Wednesday. The talented guard announced his decision on social media, bringing experience and scoring ability to the Gamecocks.

Knox, the brother of Arkansas’ Karter Knox and Golden State Warriors’ Kevin Knox, is coming off a strong redshirt junior season, where he appeared in 30 games and made 22 starts. He recorded 324 points (10.8 per game), along with 92 rebounds, 48 assists, and 34 steals—his most productive season to date.

In the 2023-24 season, as a redshirt sophomore, Knox was a consistent contributor, scoring in double figures 12 times. He finished the year with 277 points, 97 rebounds, 51 assists, and 18 steals, starting all 33 games for South Florida.

This marks Knox’s second transfer, as he initially began his college career at Grand Canyon University, where he redshirted in 2021-22 before playing in 2022-23.

Paris and his staff have been active in the transfer market following a disappointing 2024-25 season, in which South Carolina missed the NCAA Tournament and turned down an SEC automatic NIT bid. In addition to Knox, the Gamecocks have also added center Christ Essandoko (Providence) and guards Treysen Eaglestaff (North Dakota) and Meechie Johnson Jr. (Ohio State).
