The Georgia Bulldogs have been actively focusing on their 2026 recruiting class, but they recently made a strategic late addition for the 2025 season. As Georgia aims to reclaim the national title after missing the final four of the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff, they will now have the support of a legacy player with deep ties to the program.
Defensive lineman London Seymour, a standout from North Gwinnett, Ga., and the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Richard Seymour, has committed to Georgia, according to Dawgs247. Seymour plans to enroll this summer, choosing the Bulldogs despite receiving scholarship offers from Boston College, Colorado, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, and Marshall.
Originally, Seymour intended to play at Boston College, a program close to his father’s legacy, as Richard Seymour won three Super Bowls with the New England Patriots. However, he ultimately decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and play for Georgia.
Before securing Seymour, Georgia had already bolstered its defensive line for 2025 by adding five-star Elijah Griffin from Pooler, Ga.—the third overall prospect in the class per On3’s industry rankings—and three-star Jayden-Jamal Hanne from Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.

Ranked 123rd among defensive linemen in the 2025 class by 247Sports, Seymour is considered a three-star prospect. In his senior season, he recorded 58 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, and six sacks. He also forced two fumbles, recovered one, and deflected a pass while playing at defensive tackle.
While he may need time to earn significant playing time at Georgia, Seymour’s commitment brings a familiar name back to Athens, sparking nostalgia for Bulldogs fans who remember his father’s dominant college career.
