SHOCKING: A Proud Star Makes NBA History with Record-Breaking Performance Against Heat

Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young delivered a historic performance during Thursday’s game against the Miami Heat, etching his name into the NBA record books. While the Hawks trailed 60-55 at halftime, Young reached an incredible milestone, becoming the youngest player in league history to record 12,000 career points and 4,500 career assists, as confirmed by the team.

Selected fifth overall in the 2018 NBA Draft, Young has established himself as one of the premier point guards in the league. At halftime, he had already tallied 12 points, six assists, one rebound, and one steal in just over 16 minutes, shooting 4-of-10 from the field, 2-of-5 from three-point range, and 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.

As the Hawks fight for playoff positioning, Young’s leadership remains crucial. Atlanta currently sits at 35-37, holding the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference, just half a game ahead of the Orlando Magic in eighth. They are also five games behind the sixth-seeded Milwaukee Bucks, aiming to secure a direct playoff berth.

Young has been a dominant force this season, appearing in 67 games and averaging 24.1 points, a league-leading 11.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game. Shooting 41% from the field, 33.3% from beyond the arc, and 87.4% from the free-throw line, he earned his fourth career All-Star selection and second consecutive nod.

As the Hawks surge with a 7-3 record over their last 10 games, Young’s backcourt partner, Dyson Daniels, has also emerged as a Defensive Player of the Year contender. With Young eligible for free agency in 2026 if he declines his player option, his historic achievements continue to fuel speculation about his long-term future in Atlanta.
