March 25, 2025 – In the wake of a narrow 77-75 defeat to the Florida Gators in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, UConn head coach Dan Hurley has pledged to work tirelessly to return the Huskies to their championship form. The loss, which ended UConn’s pursuit of a third consecutive national title, left players, fans, and coaching staff grappling with disappointment.
Hurley, visibly emotional after the game, reflected on the team’s journey and the challenges they faced throughout the season. “This year’s been a real battle,” he remarked. “We’ve battled and we’ve had to battle, battle and battle. At times, I don’t think we liked each other a whole lot with some of the things we had to go through together. But I don’t think I’ll ever love a team more than how hard they fought for what we were trying to accomplish and for the honor they played with today.”

You lose perspective. You struggle with the ego at times because you’ve been on this incredible run.”
