Highly sought-after offensive lineman Pete Eglitis continues to explore his college options, making a return visit to the University of Missouri this past weekend. The 6-foot-7, 288-pound three-star prospect out of Watterson High School in Columbus, Ohio, took the opportunity to dive deeper into the Tigers’ offensive system and strengthen his relationship with the coaching staff.
Missouri has been actively pursuing Eglitis as part of its 2026 recruiting class, and this visit allowed him to better understand the program’s run-heavy scheme. “I had a great time learning about the way Missouri runs their offense,” Eglitis said. “Coach [Eliah] Drinkwitz and his staff have built a system that really plays to an offensive lineman’s strengths, and I can see myself fitting in well.”
Eglitis’ recruitment has gained momentum in recent months, with offers from multiple programs, including Kentucky, Iowa State, Akron, Miami (Ohio), Liberty, and Toledo, among others. Earlier this month, he also visited the University of Pittsburgh, where he received an offer and expressed his admiration for the Panthers’ program.
His latest trip to Columbia signifies strong mutual interest between him and the Tigers. With Missouri emphasizing trench play in their offensive identity, Eglitis’ blend of size, strength, and agility makes him a prime target for the coaching staff as they continue to build a formidable unit for the future.
“Every time I visit, I get a better feel for the program and what Missouri has to offer,” Eglitis added. “The facilities, the coaching, and the way they develop their players stand out to me. I’m looking forward to continuing to build relationships with the staff and figuring out what’s best for my future.”
As Eglitis’ recruitment continues to unfold, Missouri remains firmly in the mix. His next steps will likely involve further visits and discussions with his family before narrowing down his choices ahead of his senior season.
