LSU’s 2026 recruiting class received a major boost on Friday with the commitment of four-star cornerback Dylan Purter from Tuskegee, Alabama. According to Hayes Fawcett, Purter chose the Tigers over several SEC programs, including Auburn, South Carolina, Missouri, and Florida.
Purter, ranked by On3 as the No. 19 cornerback and the No. 9 overall player in Alabama, is the latest addition to LSU’s already impressive recruiting class, which currently holds the No. 1 ranking in the nation. The class boasts one five-star, six four-stars, and one three-star recruit, earning a 94.383 rating—just ahead of USC’s 94.257.

Head coach Brian Kelly and his staff have been aggressive in securing top talent for the program’s future following a solid 2024 season, which saw LSU finish 9-4 overall, 5-3 in SEC play, and claim a Texas Bowl victory over Baylor.
Purter now joins a star-studded group of LSU commits, including five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys, four-star defensive lineman Richard Anderson, four-star safety Aiden Hall, and four-star offensive tackle Brysten Martinez. With this latest commitment, the Tigers continue to solidify their place at the top of the recruiting rankings.
