BID WIN: Indiana Football Strengthens Future Roster as Highly-Rated Three-Star Tight End Officially Commits to the Hoosiers

The Indiana Hoosiers have officially strengthened their future offense with the commitment of PJ MacFarlane, a highly sought-after three-star tight end from Lakota East High School in Ohio. After months of being on Indiana’s radar and a key visit to Bloomington, MacFarlane has decided to join the Hoosiers, solidifying their 2026 recruiting class.

The 6-foot-5, 215-pound tight end had a standout junior season, recording 40 receptions for 586 yards and eight touchdowns. His impressive performance made him one of the fastest-rising prospects in his class. Ranked as the 27th-best player in Ohio and the 43rd-best tight end nationally by 247Sports, MacFarlane received offers from several top programs, including Illinois, Michigan State, Notre Dame, and North Carolina State. However, after careful consideration, he has chosen Indiana as his future home.

Indiana’s coaching staff, led by Curt Cignetti, prioritized adding depth to the tight end position after losing Zach Horton last season. With the current roster featuring veteran transfers Holden Staes and Riley Nowakowski, securing a long-term talent like MacFarlane was a crucial move for the Hoosiers.

“IU is where I want to be,” MacFarlane stated following his visit. “I knew this was the right place for me.”

With his commitment, Indiana continues to build a competitive 2026 recruiting class, and MacFarlane is expected to play a key role in the team’s offensive plans moving forward.
