MEGA SUCCESS: UConn Men’s Basketball Secures Massive Recruiting Win as Four-Star Big Man Commits to the Huskies for the 2025 Class

UConn’s 2025 recruiting class just got a significant boost with the commitment of four-star center Eric Reibe on Wednesday. The 7-foot German prospect, who currently plays high school basketball in Potomac, Maryland, chose the Huskies over strong offers from Creighton, Oregon, Kansas, and Indiana. He joins combo guard Darius Adams as part of UConn’s highly anticipated incoming class.

Ranked No. 33 overall in the 247Sports 2025 Composite rankings, Reibe is widely regarded as one of the most skilled and versatile big men in his class. According to 247Sports analyst Adam Finkelstein, Reibe’s high basketball IQ, elite passing, and effective screening make him a perfect fit for Dan Hurley and Luke Murray’s system at UConn.

Beyond his post play, Reibe’s ability to knock down outside shots adds another dimension to his game, making him a floor-spacing center capable of pulling defenders out of the paint. His potential pairing with Tarris Reed Jr. could give the Huskies yet another dominant frontcourt duo, following in the footsteps of Adama Sanogo & Donovan Clingan (2022-23) and Clingan & Samson Johnson (last season).

With Reibe and Adams now committed, UConn continues to build another top-tier recruiting class. The Huskies still have one scholarship available for the 2025-26 season, depending on roster decisions.
