HUGE BOOST: Four-Star Big Man Commits to UConn Men’s Basketball

UConn received a major boost to its 2025 recruiting class with the commitment of four-star center Eric Reibe on Wednesday. The 7-foot prospect from Germany, currently playing high school basketball in Potomac, Maryland, selected the Huskies over offers from Creighton, Oregon, Kansas, and Indiana. He joins combo guard Darius Adams as part of UConn’s incoming class.

Ranked No. 33 overall in the 247Sports 2025 Composite rankings, Reibe is considered one of the most versatile big men in his class. 247Sports analyst Adam Finkelstein praises his basketball IQ, particularly his passing and screening abilities—both key components of Dan Hurley and Luke Murray’s offensive system at UConn.

Reibe also possesses a reliable outside shot, making him a floor-spacing threat who can draw defenders out of the paint. His potential pairing with future frontcourt teammate Tarris Reed Jr. will provide Hurley with another dynamic lineup option, following in the footsteps of past UConn big men duos like Adama Sanogo and Donovan Clingan in 2022-23 and Clingan and Samson Johnson last season.

With Reibe and Adams now on board, UConn is assembling yet another high-level recruiting class. The Huskies currently have one remaining scholarship available for the 2025-26 season, assuming all current players return.
