BREAKING: Braves Cut Ties with $91 Million Outfielder in Major Roster Shakeup

The Atlanta Braves have officially parted ways with outfielder Jarred Kelenic, marking a surprising but expected move as the team looks to solidify its roster for the future.

With Ronald Acuña Jr. and Spencer Strider set to return, the Braves are gearing up for a championship run. However, Kelenic found himself the odd man out in the outfield depth chart—especially after Atlanta brought in Jurickson Profar this offseason.

Despite having three years of arbitration left, Kelenic was projected for a long-term deal worth $91 million, per Spotrac. While he showed flashes of potential, the Braves ultimately decided to move in a different direction rather than commit to a long-term contract.

Kelenic, who signed a one-year, $2.3 million deal to avoid arbitration, now looks to find a new home where he can secure an everyday role. His 2023 season with the Mariners was promising, but in Atlanta, he never quite found his footing.

Unless this move was part of a blockbuster trade, many fans believe letting him go for nothing is a mistake. The Braves, however, are focused on immediate success and felt Kelenic no longer fit into their long-term plans.
