Canadiens Defenseman Departs Game After Questionable Hit From Trouba
The Montreal Canadiens will be without defenseman Justin Barron for the remainder of their contest against the New York Rangers.
Midway through the third period, Barron was skating through the neutral zone while shooting the puck into the Rangers’ zone when captain Jacob Trouba laid him out with yet another questionable headshot.

While leading with his elbow, Trouba has injured another player by targeting the head.
To make matters worse, Barron’s helmet bounced off the ice following the hit, and he needed assistance off the ice.
Unfortunately, Trouba did not receive a penalty on the play; he only received a five-minute fighting major when Mike Matheson stepped up for his fallen teammate.
Hopefully, the NHL will watch the play and reevaluate the situation in the following days.
