Breaking News: Sha’Carri Richardson pulls out of women’s 200m Due To

American star Richardson withdrew from the half-lap sprint having finished eighth in Friday’s 100m behind Olympic champion Julien Alfred.

Sha’Carri Richardson will not compete in the 200 meters in this Saturday’s Diamond League Final in Brussels, September 14.

The world champion in the 100 meters from the previous year found it difficult in the cold on Friday, coming in a far eighth place behind Olympic gold medallist Julien Alfred.

The American celebrity was scheduled to compete in the 200 meters, but at approximately 1400 local time, her name vanished from the official online startlist, and Tasa Jiya, a Dutch sprinter, took her place in the lineup.

In the brief sprint, Richardson got off to a slow start, failed to catch up, and eased past the finish line to clock 11.23. Alfred finished in 10.88 seconds.

Dina Asher-Smith of Britain finished second behind Marie-Josee Ta Lou-Smith, the experienced Ivorian competing in the 200m, which also included Britany Brown, the bronze medallist from Paris 2024.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone will compete in a comparable 200-meter race before the Diamond League track championships begin after winning an invited 400-meter race on Friday.
