Breaking News: A’ja Wilson, Aces Woman Star, Creates A Notable History In WNBA Against Indiana Fever

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A’ja Wilson’s 941st point, scored right before the half in the Las Vegas Aces’ game against the Indiana Fever on Wednesday night, set the WNBA single season scoring record.

With 26.4 seconds remaining in the second quarter, Wilson made a jumper from the free throw line to eclipse Jewell Loyd’s previous record of 939 points from 2023. The two-time league MVP for the Aces had an average of 27.3 points and 11.9 rebounds going into the contest.

She had eight rebounds and 12 points at the end of the first half.

She was rehabilitating from a foot injury she sustained against Connecticut last Friday night, so she was unable to play in the team’s previous game in New York on Sunday.

After Wednesday, the Aces have four games remaining, one of which is on Friday night against the Fever.
