The Las Vegas Aces star, who jointly filed for divorce with Waller on April 23, is looking ahead to the WNBA season, which tips off May 14
Following her divorce from Darren Waller, Kelsey Plum is expressing a faith-forward outlook.
The WNBA All-Star expressed her “extreme gratitude” in an interview with Fox affiliate KVVU-TV following the dissolution of her one-year marriage to the tight end for the New York Giants.
“It’s been difficult for me to be off,” the 29-year-old said to reporter Paloma Villicana. “I’m sure that’s well known to all, but I’m really appreciative for it. My faith has, I believe, greatly increased. Furthermore, I am aware of who I am, and as they say, “you get refined by fire.”
The Las Vegas Aces guard is focusing on defending the team’s back-to-back titles when the WNBA regular season gets underway next week.
Plum remarked, “Try to run it back again. I’m excited about this season and Las Vegas.” And we truly represent the Aces vs. everybody because we know that our supporters, this organization, and our squad are as close as we’ve ever been.
Plum’s viewpoint is being presented two weeks after it was revealed that, in accordance with court records that PEOPLE was able to get, Waller, 31, and she jointly filed for divorce in Clark County, Nevada.
Plum sent a devastating statement on social media shortly after the filing.
“I’m inconsolable. She posted on Instagram Stories, “I saw it’s time to go, but I walked through fire for that man.”
“God has given me an incredible life, and I’m truly so grateful for the profound love from my family and friends,” the California native concluded.
When Waller was a player with the Las Vegas Raiders, Plum and he started dating. It is said that they dated for almost a year prior to getting married on March 4, 2023.
Waller was transferred across the nation to the New York Giants not long after they were married.
Plum is looking forward to another thrilling summertime event, which is the WNBA season starting soon and, ideally, playing for Team USA at the Olympics in Paris.
