Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are on a 6-1 run, with Clark potentially running away with the Rookie of the Year honors. Colin Cowherd and Nick Wright wonder if the WNBA is doing enough to encourage Clark’s increasing prominence.
Another Caitlin Clark win. Another Caitlin Clark milestone.
In the Indiana Fever’s 93-86 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks, the star player for the team and frontrunner for WNBA Rookie of the Year scored 24 points, including four 3-pointers, to go along with a triple-double.
She made WNBA history by becoming the player to achieve 100 3-pointers in a season the quickest. With 10 rebounds and 10 assists, she achieved her second career triple-double. At the Gain bridge Fieldhouse, the audience went wild as Clark recovered a late Kia Nurse miss.
“Of course I knew, but honestly, like, we were just trying to get stops,” she said.
In the victory, Aliyah Boston, a fellow Fever star, contributed 24 points, 14 rebounds, and four assists. Kelsey Mitchell scored eighteen points.
After beginning the season 1–8, the Fever improved to 18–16 on the year and are now assuredly placed in the postseason picture. The Fever have gone 7-1 since returning from the Olympics, with their lone defeat coming at the hands of the Minnesota Lynx.
Before the Sparks game, Clark remarked, “Definitely, cool,” about making the playoffs. For us, it doesn’t even need to reach the wire, and I find that to be unique. For example, you could just kick back and play hoops while having a great time. Yes, we succeeded in that endeavor, but there is still a ton of unfinished business.”
According to Erica Wheeler, the squad still has work to do.

“The job is not done,” Wheeler said. “We still have six, seven more games, and we can’t think ahead like that. Me being a vet, I know that for a fact. So for me, it’s not time to think about the playoffs. You’ve got seven games left.”
