Carlos Alcaraz is gaining attention not only for his remarkable tennis career but also for his personal life. The 21-year-old has already secured four Grand Slam titles, including the 2024 French Open, the 2022 US Open, and consecutive Wimbledon victories in 2023 and 2024. As he rises in the tennis world, interest in his romantic life has grown.
Alcaraz, who is currently ranked world number three, mentioned last year how challenging it is to maintain relationships due to his demanding schedule. He hinted at a past breakup and shared that he had been single for 18 months. Despite his efforts to keep his personal life private, there have been rumors linking him to fellow tennis pro Maria Gonzalez Gimenez, British tennis star Emma Raducanu, and US Open champion Iga Swiatek.
In an interview with Vogue, Alcaraz discussed the difficulties of maintaining a romantic relationship while constantly traveling. He stated, “It’s complicated, never staying in one place… It’s hard to find the person who can share things with you if you’re always in different parts of the world.”
Although Alcaraz and Gimenez have never confirmed their relationship, they have been closely linked. Gimenez, who is also a tennis player, hails from the same Spanish city as Alcaraz, Murcia, and graduated with a bilingual law degree from her local university in June. In 2023, Tennis Tonic shared an Instagram story screenshot from Alcaraz that showed him kissing Maria on the cheek, with the caption, “I miss you.”
Despite continuing to follow each other on social media, there have also been rumors that Alcaraz might be dating Spanish singer Ana Mena or British tennis star Raducanu. However, in an interview with The Sunday Times in June, Alcaraz clarified that he is currently single but is “looking for someone.”
Speculation about a possible romance with Raducanu intensified after she was seen attending his Wimbledon final against Novak Djokovic in July. However, Alcaraz downplayed her attendance, saying, “I don’t know. I guess a lot of people came to see the final… She is from here, so I imagine that she wanted to come and see it. If there was a Grand Slam in Murcia, I would watch the finals 100 per cent… I don’t know if she came to the finals or if she came to see me. Who knows? You have to question her, but I hope she enjoyed the final.”
Raducanu, who recently ended her relationship with Carlo Agostinelli, did not elaborate on her reason for attending the match but mentioned that she finds inspiration in Alcaraz’s style of play. She has also attended several of his matches and commented, “The last couple matches I’ve been following Carlos and it’s just good to watch before my own match. And sometimes in certain moments, you in a way try to emulate certain shots or whatever.”
For now, Alcaraz seems focused on his family and tennis career, living with his parents and siblings when not on tour. He said, “I live with my mum and dad, my older brother and two younger brothers. To them, I am not a big tennis star, just a normal guy,” which might suggest that any rumors of a current romance are unfounded.
