For Michigan supporters, tracking the recruitment of four-star defensive lineman Nathaniel Marshall has been quite the journey. Although Marshall had committed to the maize and blue back on April 22, the Oak Park, Illinois, Fenwick product continued to explore other programs in spite of this. It seemed for a while that Marshall might quit Michigan before declaring his love for the Wolverines again during his May 31 visit.
However, it looks like the defensive lineman is moving again. Numerous predictions indicate that Marshall will leave Michigan and travel to Auburn in the south. On June 7, Marshall brought an official to Auburn.
Four Crystal Ball predictions from Friday pointed Auburn in the direction of flipping the Michigan commit.
The Tigers currently have a 93.8% chance of obtaining Marshall over on On3, compared to Michigan’s less than 3%.
Marshall’s departure from Michigan’s 2025 class would be a difficult blow. According to the Composite, he is now the Wolverines’ highest-ranked prospect. Marshall is ranked as the class’s No. 6 defensive lineman and No. 46 prospect overall. In the state of Illinois, he is ranked as the second-best player.
Michigan still has three defensive linemen committed in the ’25 cycle, including Jaylen Williams of Illinois, if Marshall decides to depart the Wolverines.
