Some think that she could fire him

After Coco Cauff’s dismal performance at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and her choice to compete in the Canadian Open, pressure is mounting on her coach.

In fact, Gauff said she wondered if it was wise for her to compete in the Toronto event so soon after the Olympics after losing in the round of 16 in Canada and coming up short of a medal in Paris.

In a humorous TikTok video, Coco Gauff discusses the challenges she had using the restroom in the Olympic Village.

Fans of the American tennis player believe that Brad Gilbert, her coach, should be fired since he has not been providing her with the right advice and that she only wants to test herself.

The 20-year-old will soon try to defend her US Open championship, but after unimpressive performances in Toronto and Paris, there is very little optimism about her prospects.

She was ready to own her flaws after the defeat in Canada, stating, “I just wasn’t finding my timing well.” I made a lot of unintentional mistakes as well as double mistakes. She didn’t give me any easy points and played steadily.”

Gauff was predicted by fans to take home an Olympic medal. Gauff recalled how she sobbed as she exited the Paris Olympic venue, saying, “It inspires me and it also puts my age in perspective. Many of them fall between 24 and 27. I believe that I have just learnt to have faith in both the trip and my training.

“I debated whether or not I should have participated in the Toronto game, but I wanted to push myself. Even though I didn’t have big hopes, I still wish I could have performed better today, even if it meant losing. I believe I did not compete properly.”
