Just In: Rapper Pitbull Seemingly Breaks Ties With Trackhouse Racing Due To

“We are going to show the world NASCAR is not only a sport but a culture,” said Trackhouse Racing co-owner Pitbull, after gaining an ownership share in the team. However, barely three years later, amid a (very tumultuous) silly season, it seems he might have taken a peaceful escape.

Recently, billionaire Marc Lasry’s Avenue Sports Fund acquired a “significant minority stake” in Trackhouse Entertainment Group, the team’s parent business. According to the NASCAR team, the investment from the private equity fund—that invests in sports properties, teams, and leagues—will help their ambitions in NASCAR, MotoGP, and beyond. However, how does the equity shake-up effect Pitbull’s stake?

According to Bloomberg, the parties involved reportedly refused to share investment details, only stating it’s “sizable”.

Adding fuel to the flames, as per some eagle-eyed followers on Reddit, also noted Justin Marks’ X handle, which previously identified him as co-owner, suddenly changed to owner. However, the Trackhouse Racing team has not announced anything yet. But what may have caused the rift? Does it have something to do with the team’s awful performances?

In the current season, their #99 driver, Daniel Suarez, apart from one win at Atlanta, has reached the Top-5 on just two occasions, and the Top-10 on four. On the other hand, his colleague, #1 driver Ross Chastain, yet to visit Victory Lane, has just seven Top-10s and two Top-5s this year. Notably, the #1 driver won two races last year, including the Championship 4 race at Phoenix Raceway.

Is Daniel Suarez not signing the contract a reason?

The bond between Daniel Suarez and Pitbull is quite clear. Suarez was called on stage by Pitbull in his Nashville concert after Suarez had just won the Atlanta race. Pitbull had a hefty introduction for him, labeling him a “fighter.” In the past, it was because of Suarez that Justin Marks was introduced to Pitbull, which finally led to Pitbull becoming a co-owner.

Suarez has had a good season with Trackhouse. He’s secured a win and most likely would be playing in the playoffs. However, his contract for 2025 hasn’t been signed yet. Recently, Suarez had clarified his objectives; when he declared in a Fox interview, “Yeah. I definitely think Trackhouse is the place to be. Honestly, today, I wouldn’t trade Trackhouse for any other team. It doesn’t matter if it’s Gibbs, Hendrick, or whatever, I wouldn’t exchange it. What about a confirmation from Trackhouse? Why isn’t the deal signed yet then?

There are various unknowns that will only be cleared once the team makes out an official announcement. Till then what do you think are Ross Chastain’s playoff chances? He’s still going winless. Let us know your opinions in the comments below.
