Denver Broncos may get player back following big development

The Denver Broncos may have a shot of getting a former fourth-round pick back in the lineup. Eyioma Uwazurike, who was suspended indefinitely for allegedly wagering on games, including ones he played in, can ask for reinstatement.

The defensive lineman missed all of the 2023 season after the charges. However, the Arapahoe County District Attorney has opted not to bring charges in the matter, opening the door for Uwazurike to begin the process of returning to the football field.

Araphoe County DA has ended review of Broncos DL Eyioma Uwazurike on gambling. No charges will be brought.

Uwazurie was taken in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. The squad has big aspirations for him ahead of the 2023 season, but this lawsuit placed all of that in doubt. For his career, he has a total of 17 tackles.

Eyioma Uwazurike expected to apply for reinstatement imminently

Uwazurike can start the process of getting reinstated to the league. Broncos head coach Sean Payton has expressed he would like to have him back.

Eyioma Uwazurike can ask for reinstatement today after being suspended the past year after gambling on games.

Sean Payton: “We want him back, but we don’t have that same control. We can’t tell you we are going to anticipate it, but we will see with the powers that be.”

The Broncos could use more help at the defensive line slot, especially if Uwazurike has as much promise as he had coming out of college. How soon he could potentially rejoin the club remains to be seen.
