Just In: Tennessee football predicted to flip Oregon four-star tight end
On Wednesday, July 6, 2022, the recognizable V-O-L-S letters will be erected on the south side of Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee. In 1999, the letters were removed. Reinstalling the letters is a part of the stadium’s Phase I improvements, which also feature two new videoboards on the north and south ends, a premium club located in the lower west, improved chairback seating in many lower west sections, and a party deck located on the upper north end. This summer, Tennessee football has been quite competitive in the recruiting process. By the time the end of July approaches, it appears that the success may continue. Since the start of June, the Vols have garnered eight commitments, and before the 2025 class begins play at the end of August, they may add a few more.
George MacIntyre, a four-star quarterback commit, made a hint on social media on Sunday that he would be making an unexpected commitment soon. This could be the commitment he’s referring to.
Several experts have predicted that Tennessee will land four-star tight end and current Oregon commit DaSaahn Brame from the Ducks to the Vols. Among them is Steve Wiltfong, vice president of recruiting and transfer portal at On3 Sports.
On3 Sports ranks Brame as the No. 4 tight end and No. 101 overall player in the 2025 class. Tennessee had a significant role in his recruitment before he decided to attend Oregon. Brame chose Oregon over Tennessee, making Tennessee the figurative runner-up.
At a time when it appears like the Vols can’t lose, flipping Brame from Oregon would be another significant triumph for the team on the recruiting path. A few more high-profile pledges from athletes who are favorites to join the Vols are imminent for Tennessee.
Expert forecasts indicate that four-star defensive backs Lagonza Hayward and Onis Konanbanny will pledge to Tennessee. In addition, an expert has predicted that Georgia commit and four-star linebacker Joshon Perlotte will transfer to Tennessee.
It would be similarly significant if the Vols were to acquire Perlotte from SEC opponent and likely SEC champion Georgia.
With the announcements of August 2 for four-star offensive lineman Juan Gaston, August 12 for Josh Petty, and August 17 for five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr., the Vols will be hoping for more positive news in the coming weeks.
