Four-star DL Jaylen Williams commits to Michigan: REPORT
According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Jaylen Williams, a four-star defensive lineman recruit from Palatine High School in Illinois, has committed to the Michigan Wolverines.
Williams ranks No. 278 overall and No. 22 among DLs in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that includes all four of the main media recruitment firms. Among Illinois players, he is ranked sixth as well.
Williams discussed his experiences following his trip in November of last year.
“That was an insane visit. The game itself was insane,” Williams said to On3. “Those fans are unlike any others I’ve seen thus far. While some of the fans I saw during the game were noisy, others weren’t.”
Last year, Jaylen Williams was there at Michigan’s game against Ohio State. After winning the position, the Wolverines were guaranteed a spot in the Big Ten Championship. After four-star Nate Marshall and Bobby Kanka, he became the Ann Arbor team’s third defensive lineman commitment of the cycle and their sixth 2025 pledge overall.

The four-star defensive lineman from Palatine High School, Jaylen Williams, declared his intention to play for the Michigan Wolverines. Despite having the option to attend Texas A&M, Tennessee, Nebraska, or Michigan, he went with Michigan.
This past weekend, he made his official visit to Ann Arbor, where he successfully made his decision. Williams talked about the university and the factors that led him to select the Wolverines.
Williams stated, as reported by The Wolverine, “I’ve always wanted to go to Michigan.” “I simply adore it… I’ve seen a lot of their defensive line film, and Aidan Hutchinson is always the first player who comes to mind. Even though I know I can’t compete with him, I truly want to be on par.”
Like they did with prior standouts like Hutchinson and Mike Morris, the Wolverines are aggressively recruiting Jaylen Williams for their edge rush job, even though he is listed on On3 as a defensive lineman.
