ESPN analyst says Texas will ‘thump’ Michigan football
Observing the Michigan football squad makes it simple to predict that the Wolverines will regress from their 2023 national championship campaign.
That doesn’t seem like a crazy opinion at all. Football at Michigan is not expected to go 15-0 again. That’s difficult to accomplish, and the Wolverines lost head coach Jim Harbaugh to the NFL in addition to having 13 players selected in the draft.
But some people are going a little too far with it. Before writing this, I had never heard of ESPN expert Peter Burns, who predicted that Michigan football would lose four games and be humiliated by Texas in the upcoming season.
Burns stated, “You start looking at this schedule right now.” “Well, Ohio State isn’t quite as good as Ohio State. They fall short of Oregon’s quality. When the Longhorns visit Texas in Week 2, they will be soundly defeated. Up there in the Big Ten, Michigan is probably a four-loss club.”
Will Texas football get “thumped” by Michigan football?
Michigan might drop four games. That may be the case, but I disagree with Burns’ assertion that Texas will “thump” Michigan. It looks more like Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant are going to thrash the Texas offensive line. It seems that many are still in the dark about those guys’ incredible talent. Not Derrick Moore, either. By the end of the season, he will be regarded as a first-round selection.
The Wolverines boast an NFL player at safety in Makari Paige, four NFL defensive lineman, the finest cornerback in college football, and two NFL linebackers. That, assuming nothing changes, translates to eight defensive draft selections.
The offensive of Michigan will be excellent. Although there are concerns regarding the quarterback position, the offensive line and running game are expected to be among the strongest in the Big Ten. Texas won’t halt the run, in my opinion. Perhaps I’m not correct about it. Although Texas has a chance to win, they won’t easily defeat the Wolverines.
Even though Quinn Ewers might win and leave the Big House with a victory, the Texas quarterback’s day will undoubtedly be difficult. Furthermore, I believe it is far too soon to say that Oregon and Ohio State are superior to Michigan. Sure, they have talent, but they don’t win any off-season trophies (well, not in Columbus).
