Given that Rafael Nadal works so hard to establish himself as one of the greatest tennis players off the court, it makes natural that his home is an opulent haven where he can unwind. The tennis player loves to be by the water when he isn’t on the court. His primary residence is at Porto Cristo, a quaint fishing village and harbor in the eastern part of Mallorca, Spain. Perched on a 1.7-acre stretch of land, the mansion has a view of the pristine bay where Nadal docks his catamaran. Ten years ago, the tennis legend bought the property and the original Mallorcan stone villa. He has spent the last ten years designing and constructing his dream home and demolishing the original. Building on the brand-new, contemporary home, which was created by Mallorcan architect Tomeu Esteva, started soon after Rafael Nadal wed Maria Francisca “Xisca” Perellò in 2019, according to the Majorca Daily Bulletin. Large windows, numerous patios, and an infinity pool characterize this modern, portside haven.

The beach villa in the Caribbean

Nadal has a special connection to the sea, as was already mentioned. His second residence is a $2 million beachfront property in the Dominican Republic’s Playa Nueva Romana, a dream beach community. The two-story villa was purchased by the accomplished tennis player in 2012, the same year he set records by winning his seventh French Open championship and his eleventh major overall. The holiday rental, which is part of a sizable development complex, features three bedrooms, a contemporary kitchen, a private pool, and access to a tennis court, golf course, country club, and private harbor.

For Nadal, having real estate close to the ocean was insufficient. He also needed to own oceanfront property. The Mallorcan tennis champion sails his 78.5-foot-long Sunreef Power catamaran, called Great White, for a good chunk of his free time. According to Boat International, the elegant superyacht was completely custom constructed with 3,875 square feet of living space, an open concept flybridge with a bar and barbecue, and a stern garage for jet skis. Nadal’s love of boats began when he was a young boy and used his father’s power boat to speed about his native Mallorca. Nadal keeps his catamaran in front of his house in Porto Cristo when he’s not at sea.
