Olympics 2024: Rafael Nadal hopes; “I will try to be a good partner for Carlos Alcaraz”
Rafael Nadal has set his sights on the doubles gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics and has given his word that he will attempt to be as excellent a partner as possible for Carlos Alcaraz. Nadal and Alcaraz comprise one of the two partnerships representing Spain at the competition, with the other tandem yet to be decided.
Speaking to media during the launch of a hotel in Spain recently, Nadal proclaimed that he will try his best to arrive as prepared as possible in Paris this summer. The Olympics will take place at Roland Garros, where the Mallorcan has won a record 14 French Open titles.
The 22-time Grand Slam champion also showered admiration on his colleague for his recent victory at the French Open. Alcaraz defeated Alexander Zverev in the final to win his third Grand Slam championship overall and first at Roland Garros.

“I’m going to strive to arrive as well prepared as possible. I haven’t played doubles for a long time, but Carlos is in a terrific situation after winning in Paris, so I will try to arrive as best as possible and as prepared as possible to be a good partner for him,” Nadal stated (via Punto de Break).
Nadal earned two gold medals at the Olympics, one in singles and another in doubles. While he won the singles title in 2008, he paired with Marc Lopez to capture the doubles medal in 2016.
Alongside Alcaraz and Nadal, Spain will be represented by Marcel Granollers, Pablo Carreno Busta and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina on the men’s side. On the women’s side, Sara Sorribes Tormo and Cristina Bucsa will represent the Spanish contingent.
